Take an afternoon wine tasting tour of the Medoc region of Bordeaux and discover its prestigious wines.
Our small group wine tour will take you along the famous “Chateau Route” of the Medoc Region, passing by mythical appellations such as Margaux, Saint-Julien and Pauillac. During the course of one memorable afternoon you will visit an 1855 Classified Growth chateau for a tour, cellar visit and wine tasting. And, a charming family-run estate where you will get to taste the famous and powerful reds that this appellation is known for.
2.00pm: Depart Bordeaux & drive through the “Chateau Route” of the Medoc. Your local expert guide will share lots of interesting information about the Bordeaux & Medoc wine regions as you go.
2.45pm: Your group will arrive in a charming and authentic family-run estate (Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron, Château Malescasse or Chateau Siran). Feel the intimacy and authenticity of a private chateau run by a passionate family for generations. Start the visit in the vineyards in front of the château, tour around the traditional vat room and visit the cellar.
Your tour will include a Bordeaux wine tasting class where you can become a wine expert in a short time. “Intense colour, woody aromas, tannic taste… “ Ouch!! What does it mean? Do not fear. You will learn how to do a proper wine tasting and teach your nose to identify the wines’ aromas. We will give you our tips and tricks to taste wine like a pro!
At the end of the chateau visit, you will enjoy a tasting of the chateau’s wines.
4.30pm: Visit a Great Classified Growth estate (Chateau Château Marquis de Terme, Château Desmirail, or Chateau Dauzac…). Visit the vineyards, the vat room and tour the cellars of one of the most prestigious chateaux in Bordeaux. Enjoy some explanations about their wine making process from the vine to the bottle. Finish the visit by a tasting of the estate’s wines while enjoying an aperitif of French delicacies (cheese, fresh bread, chocolate).
7.15 pm: Your tour guide will take you back to Bordeaux after a drive through the famous Medoc chateau route.
