9.00 am : Pick up from Reims city center : Meet your expert guide in front of the tourist office of Reims centre train station.
9.45 am : Pickup from Epernay city center : Meet your expert guide at Moët & Chandon in front of the statue of Dom Perignon.
Drive through the Champagne Avenue in Epernay, capital of Champagne where some of the most prestigious estates are based (Pol Roger, Perrier Jouët, Mercier, Boizel, Moët&Chandon).
Visit Moët & Chandon, the most famous producer of Champagne, discover the Champagne making process and enjoy some of the 150 years- old-cuvee “Brut Imperial”.
Enjoy a moment in the vineyards, with breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage vines of Champagne and acquire knowledge of the particularities of our “terroir”. You will then Discover the village of Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne. Get to enter the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried.
Be welcomed in Mareuil-sur-Ay at a typical Champagne House (Le Clos Corbier). After a Champagne quizz, train your nose to identify the different aromas and flavors that can be found in Champagne through an olfactory workshop.
Get competitive as you get to identify blindly 3 different Champagnes from boutique wineries all while eating some local snacks.
Enjoy a regional lunch with paired wines and Champagnes in a fun and familial atmosphere. Get introduced to local products like baguette, Reims’ ham, regional cheeses, pink biscuit, Ratafia…
Appreciate the charming hillsides of Champagne and peek-behind-the-scenes of a family-run boutique winery. Visit the traditional press, vat room and cellar of an authentic Champagne grower. Stroll down the cool cellar corridors and glance at the immense quantity of bottles slowly maturing. Enjoy several tastings of their best–seller “cuvees” and find the best values of Champagne!
After a day full of experiences and precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in front of the statue of Dom Perignon in Epernay at 5.15 pm or in front of the tourist office of Reims centre train station at 6.00 pm.
TRAIN INFORMATION IF YOU ARE DOING PARIS - REIMS FOR THE DAY:
If you come from Paris by train, book it as soon as possible to get availabilities and the best fares.
1. Weekdays (from Monday to Friday)
Take the 7.23am train (TGV Inoui 2707) from Paris Est which arrives at Reims Centre train station at 8.10am.
2. Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
- Due to a lack of train which could arriving on time at the pick-up place, we recommend you to arrive the day before in Reims.
- However, if you can’t arrive the day before, you can take the 7.58am train from Paris Est which arrives at Reims Champagne-Ardenne TGV at 8.37am and join the tour at Reims Centre train station with a taxi / Uber to be ordered before you arrive (15 minutes drive).
When you arrive at Reims Centre train station, take “Place de la Gare” exit (Reims centre), we will wait for you outside the station in front of the tourist office.
Be careful, there are two tourists’ offices in Reims.
The meeting point is at the train station tourist office, not the cathedral tourist office.
For the return train back to Paris: please take one from 6.45 pm.
