Meet your local guide from Reims, from Epernay or from Mareuil-sur-Ay:
- OPTION 1: Pick-up from Reims, at 9:00am in front of the tourist office of Reims centre train station. If you arrive by train, when you get off the train, go to the REIMS CENTER exit.
Drive towards Epernay, the capital of Champagne and discover the specificities of the region and its terroir.
- OPTION 2: Pick-up from Epernay, at 9:45am at the intersection of Avenue de Champagne and Rue Jean Chandon Moët. Pass by the famous Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, where several prestigious Champagne Houses are located.
- OPTION 3: Pick-up from Mareuil-sur-Ay, at 9:45am at Le Clos Corbier, 5 Boulevard Nicolas François Billecart, 51160 Mareuil-sur-Ay (Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/XNqePUxfS1WWsGkN8) (Minivan pick-up and drop off not included for departures from Mareuil-sur-Ay)
After a drive deep in Champagne country to a typical Champagne House, Le Clos Corbier, your bikes will be ready for you to ride.
Your e-bike will allow you to explore some of Champagne’s most remote locations. Deserve your Champagne glasses cycling through Premier and Grand Cru villages, and fully experience the complexity of our terroir.
Enjoy breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage vines of Champagne. You will then discover the village of Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne.
Taste different Champagnes from a family boutique grower where you will see and be taught about the different pressing facilities, tanks and cellars.
Finish your time in Hautvillers where you will have a guided visit of the church where the famous monk Dom Pérignon is buried.
Experience a cycle down the Marne canal to make your way back to the Clos Corbier. Immerse yourself into the french lifestyle with a traditional lunch, which consists of homemade regional specialties paired with a variety of Champagnes (can be adapted to allergies or specific diets).
After a day full of experiences and precious memories, your guide will drop you off at 4.00pm ( from Epernay) and at 4.45pm (from Reims).
If the bike tour is affected by weather (Rain, black ice…), the tour will be adjusted accordingly: the schedule of the tour can be changed or the tour can be done by minivan instead of bikes.
Please note that the electric bikes are heavier than regular bikes, as a consequence it is required to be comfortable with cycling.
