This afternoon wine tour from Avignon will give you the opportunity to discover wines from the famous Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation of Provence.
Your tour starts at 2.30pm when you will meet your local expert guide and set off on a scenic drive through the Rhone Valley's vineyards to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Learn about the historical heritage of Provence from your guide as you go.
Arriving in Chateauneuf-du-Pape its time for some wine tasting! Visiting two different wine making estates you'll enjoy winery tours and tasting at each (tasting included).
Having learned about Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines and their specific characteristics, it's time to visit the village and castle from which this famous appellation gets its name. Climb to the top of the ruins of the former Pope's summer residence and enjoy panoramic views over the Rhône River Valley and the vineyards surrounding the village.
