Spend a day visiting the incredible landscape of Cassis and its Calanques (rocky inlets) by the Mediterranean sea, and the charming Provencal villages located in the Luberon moutains. Your expert local guide will share his local knowledge and passion for the region as you go. This is a day trip to be remembered!
Your day starts in Aix-en-Provence at 9am where you meet your friendly guide and start your journey on the road towards Cassis. You will pass by the Cap Canaille, the highest maritime cliff in Europe! The view is breathtaking.
Arriving in Cassis, walk around the old fishing port, with all its colourful boats. If you join the tour on a Wednesday or a Friday, you can also enjoy the local market.
You will have the possibility to embark on a one hour cruise from Cassis to discover the calanques, limestone cliffs which dive into the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean sea and create natural coves (fat, rocky claws that resemble Norwegian fjords and poke out into the sea) (the cruise ticket is not included).
Continue your tour towards the Luberon. You will enjoy some free time to discover the village of Lourmarin, famous for its Renaissance style castle.
Next on your journey through Provence is a visit to Roussillon with its ochre cliffs and onto a photo-stop in Bonnieux.
Be amazed by the unique architecture in Gordes, the village perched high in the Luberon and made entirely of dry stones.
You will finish the tour of Cassis and the Luberon with a drive back to Aix-en-Provence, arriving at 7.30pm.
Please note: We cannot be held responsible if the Calanques cruise is cancelled due to bad weather or if the Crest road and the access to Cap Canaille are closed (no refund can be claimed).
