MEETING POINT:
9.00AM: Departure from Tours. Meet your friendly guide in front of the Tourist Office in the city of Tours (just in front of the train station).
9.30AM: Departure from Amboise. Your guide comes to pick-you up with the minibus in front of the Tourist office of Amboise.
Now let’s start the day! :)
Your first visit will be the unique Château de Chenonceau. Admire the most visited historical monument in France after Château de Versailles! This stunning chateau was built like a bridge on one of the Loire's main tributaries : the Cher river. Follow your guide through the amazing gardens à la Française now bearing the names of powerfull women who built it : "Catherine de Médicis" and "Diane de Poitiers". Then, admire the beautiful furniture coating each room of the chateau as well as the amazing fresh floral decorations. Your tour guide will take you to the kitchens, the Queen's bedroom, the Gallery... and will share with you all his anecdotes and funny stories linked to this unique place.
After this exceptional visit, It's time to head in direction Château de Chambord for lunch, you will enjoy a free-time to picnic in the park with your guide and discover with thanks to him the French Art de Vivre.
Lunch is not included in the tour, you can either come with your picnic in the morning or buy a sandwich/salad around Chenonceau or Chambord.
And now, the famous Château de Chambord ! With its extraordinary architecture and its immoderate size, it is impossible to feel indifferent about this spectacular construction. Listen to your guide who will tell you the enthralling stories about this major historical building full of mysteries and its creator: King Francis 1st. Follow him/her through the building and admire the King’s apartment’s, the double helix staircase inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, the terrace with its great view on the magnificent gardens and hunting grounds of the Chateau... Your tour guide will show you the best of Chambord and will share with you fun anecdotes about its successive owners as well as about life at the French court back to the Renaissance days.
After this visit, your group will head back to Tours. On the way, make the most of extra beautiful views and amazing landscapes of Loire Valley: The town and château of Blois, the beautiful Chaumont-Sur-Loire château and the impressive Chateau d’Amboise overlooking the Loire river...A fun and captivating day !
